Terms of Use
Effective Date: August 16, 2026
See also: Privacy Policy.
Agreement
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Careviv Health Inc. ("Careviv," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of Careviv websites, applications, services, and related platforms (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
1. About the Services
Careviv operates a doctor–clinic matching and transition platform using structured, explainable matching. Doctors and clinics provide professional information, requirements, preferences, working conditions, and timing. Current matching compares confirmed structured information and presents factor-level results. Careviv is initially developing its matching network in British Columbia and provides a separate pathway for UK-trained GPs considering practice in Canada.
Depending on your relationship with Careviv, the Services may include doctor and clinic profiles; matching, factor-level alignment results, and introductions; coordination of agreed next steps; a separate UK GP recruitment, licensing-navigation, relocation, and transition pathway; educational information; and portals for profiles, documents, and communications. Future services may introduce AI-assisted interpretation or numeric scores. Those features are not guaranteed to be available, and new processing practices will be addressed through appropriate product notices and Privacy Policy updates.
Careviv is not the employer, clinic, regulator, immigration representative, lawyer, or agent of either party unless that role is expressly stated in a separate written agreement. Careviv does not currently operate a patient waiting list or a public provider directory as part of the Services.
- Careviv may decline, pause, or end a matching or recruitment process where information is incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent with these Terms or applicable law.
- Doctors and clinics remain responsible for deciding whether to communicate, interview, contract, hire, or proceed.
2. No Medical, Legal, Immigration, Tax, or Financial Advice
Careviv is not a healthcare provider, immigration consultant, lawyer, tax adviser, or insurer. Information available through the Services is general information only.
- Careviv does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or provide medical care. Do not use the Services for a medical emergency. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department.
- Careviv does not provide legal, immigration, tax, financial, licensing, or employment advice.
- Careviv does not guarantee licensure, immigration approval, employment, an interview, an offer, a start date, relocation timing, or retention.
- Only the applicable medical regulator determines licensing. Immigration or legal advice must come from a properly authorised professional you choose independently.
- You are responsible for independently verifying clinic information, professional credentials, contracts, and any pathway requirements that apply to you.
3. Matching and Alignment Results
Current matching uses confirmed structured doctor and clinic information and presents factor-level results. Future services may introduce AI-assisted interpretation or a numeric Alignment Score. Those features are not guaranteed to be available. New processing practices will be addressed through appropriate product notices and Privacy Policy updates.
Matching results estimate alignment between stated inputs. They are not a probability of hiring success, an assessment of physician quality, a credentialing or licensing decision, or a retention guarantee. Careviv does not make final hiring decisions, and matching results must not be used as the sole basis for an employment or contracting decision.
- Current matching compares confirmed structured requirements, preferences, and working conditions.
- Current results are factor-level rather than a single numeric Alignment Score.
- Users may be asked to review or confirm structured information before it affects matching.
- Eligibility, readiness, mutual alignment, and data confidence may be evaluated or displayed separately.
- Missing or unknown information must not automatically count as a match.
- Results may change when profiles, opportunity details, model logic, or model versions change.
- A matching result is not a probability of hiring success and does not assess physician quality, clinical competence, licensing eligibility, employment performance, retention, or legal suitability.
- A favourable result does not guarantee an introduction, interview, offer, licence, work permit, start date, or continued engagement.
- Careviv does not use matching results to make a final hiring or career decision.
- Doctors and clinics remain responsible for deciding whether to communicate, interview, contract, hire, or proceed.
- Users may correct relevant information and request review of a materially inaccurate result.
- Careviv does not claim that the model is statistically validated, bias-free, or objective, or that it can predict success. Careviv does not identify a single best doctor or clinic.
4. AI-Assisted Features
Careviv may use AI-assisted tools to support matching and related workflows, including the uses listed below. Those features are not guaranteed to be available. Current recruitment matching does not send profiles or matching free text to an LLM and does not use AI to rank or select matches. A large language model does not independently decide who should be matched or hired. Careviv does not guarantee AI accuracy, and information shown through the Services is not necessarily regulator-verified.
Generative AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not replace independent professional judgment. AI-assisted features do not provide medical, licensing, immigration, legal, tax, or employment advice.
How Careviv handles personal information, service providers, model inputs, retention, corrections, and human review is described in the Privacy Policy and in any Matching & AI Notice Careviv publishes.
- Extraction and organisation of profile responses.
- Normalisation of clinic and doctor requirements.
- Identification of missing or conflicting information.
- Generation of factor-level match explanations.
- Internal quality and safety review.
5. UK GP Pathway
Careviv may provide UK-trained GPs with general information and coordination relating to Canadian opportunities, licensing pathways, work authorisation, relocation, and transition planning. This pathway is separate from the British Columbia matching network and is not the whole of the Services.
- Careviv is not a regulator or licensing authority.
- Careviv does not guarantee licensure, immigration approval, employment, relocation timing, or retention.
- Only the applicable regulator determines licensing.
- Immigration or legal advice must come from a properly authorised professional.
- Clinics and doctors remain responsible for their agreements and regulatory obligations.
6. Clinic Responsibilities
Clinic users must be authorised to represent the clinic and must use the Services for lawful, job-related recruitment purposes. Clinic users must:
- Provide accurate and current information about the opportunity, including compensation, workload, schedule, practice model, support, location, and expected start timing.
- Use lawful, job-related selection requirements.
- Independently verify credentials, licensing, references, insurance, work authorisation, privileges, and supervision requirements.
- Comply with applicable employment, human-rights, accessibility, pay-transparency, immigration, privacy, and professional-regulatory obligations.
- Not use matching results, including any future Alignment Score, as the sole basis for rejecting or selecting a doctor.
7. Doctor Responsibilities
Doctors remain responsible for their own professional, licensing, and career decisions. Doctors must:
- Provide accurate and current professional, licensing, work-authorisation, experience, preference, and availability information.
- Submit only information and documents they are authorised to provide.
- Update material changes that may affect eligibility, readiness, or matching.
- Independently evaluate clinics, contracts, compensation, licensing pathways, relocation requirements, and professional obligations.
8. Credentials, Documents, and Review
Doctors and clinics may upload or provide CVs, identity documents, licensing evidence, references, and related materials so Careviv can organise information and support matching or the UK GP pathway. You represent that information you submit is accurate and that you are authorised to provide it.
Careviv may review, organise, or decline documents. Careviv reviewing a document is not regulatory credentialing or independent verification unless the platform expressly labels that item as independently verified. Document review is not a substitute for regulatory credentialing, immigration advice, or clinic employment screening. Handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Fees and Commercial Terms
Doctors are not charged for obtaining employment, being introduced to clinics, or receiving information about available employment. Any optional doctor-paid service must be separate, genuinely optional, clearly priced, and not a condition of receiving matching or recruitment services.
Clinic fees are governed by a separate signed Clinic Services Agreement or order form. That clinic agreement should govern fee amounts, taxes, invoicing, candidate attribution, prior relationships, cancellation, credits or refunds, and fee-triggering events. Where a signed clinic agreement conflicts with these Terms on commercial matters, the signed clinic agreement controls.
10. User Accounts
To access certain Services, you may create a Careviv account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information, maintain account security, and keep login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account. Careviv may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, as described in section 18.
11. Fair and Lawful Use
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes. Family and household information, when collected for relocation support, is not intended to determine clinic-side hiring suitability.
You must not:
- Request, infer, rank, filter, or exclude people using protected characteristics or unlawful proxies.
- Ask Careviv to infer protected information from names, photographs, family information, CVs, locations, or free text.
- Submit discriminatory opportunity requirements or communications.
- Manipulate, reverse engineer, or deliberately game a score.
- Use automated results as the sole basis for a significant employment decision.
- Scrape, bulk export, re-identify, resell, or build competing datasets or models from Careviv profiles.
- Upload patient information or unnecessary sensitive third-party information.
- Provide false or misleading information, attempt to access restricted systems, interfere with platform operations, or post fraudulent reviews.
12. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit. Careviv receives only the limited rights needed to host, organise, analyse, compare, display, and share that information according to your visibility choices, these Terms, and the Privacy Policy. This limited licence is not permission to train AI models on private or identifiable user information.
Different classes of content are treated differently:
- Public reviews or other content you voluntarily publish may be displayed and distributed as part of the public Services.
- Private doctor and clinic profiles are used to operate matching, introductions, and related services according to the visibility and consent settings you choose.
- Confidential documents such as CVs, passports, licensing records, references, and DBS records are used only as needed for the requested process and are not treated as public content.
- Product feedback may be used to operate and improve the Services, without treating it as a public endorsement.
- You agree that content you submit is truthful, that you are authorised to provide it, and that it does not violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other legal rights. Careviv may moderate or remove content that violates these Terms.
13. Intellectual Property
All platform content, branding, technology, software, and matching models belong to Careviv or its licensors. Doctors may use the Services for their own professional purposes. Clinics receive a limited licence to use Careviv for authorised internal recruitment purposes. You may not copy, distribute, scrape, or commercially exploit Careviv content, models, or profile data except as these Terms or a separate written agreement allow.
14. Third-Party Services and Links
Careviv may link to third-party clinics, regulators, payment platforms, or informational websites. Careviv does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, including healthcare delivery, licensing decisions, immigration processing, payment processing, or privacy practices. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and those providers.
15. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Careviv makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy of content, matching results, Alignment Scores, clinic or doctor availability, licensing or immigration outcomes, placement outcomes, or platform functionality. Careviv does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory statutory rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law, Careviv is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Careviv's total liability relating to your use of the Services shall not exceed the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid directly to Careviv in the previous six months, except where a separate written Clinic Services Agreement provides otherwise for that engagement. This limit does not apply where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Careviv harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the Services, violations of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent a claim is caused by Careviv's own breach or where indemnification is not permitted by law.
18. Suspension, Termination, and Account Closure
Careviv may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fraud or misuse is suspected, or platform security is compromised. You may close your account by contacting Careviv.
Account closure is separate from termination of a Clinic Services Agreement. Closing or suspending an account does not automatically cancel a signed clinic agreement or outstanding clinic fees. Those commercial terms continue according to the clinic agreement.
After account closure, profile visibility for future matching ends. Introductions already made may continue between the doctor and clinic. Outstanding fees remain payable under any applicable clinic agreement. Careviv may retain information as described in the Privacy Policy, including where retention is required by law, needed to establish or defend legal claims, or needed to complete an active introduction.
- Careviv may remove or restrict access to content or features if these Terms are violated.
- Termination of a Clinic Services Agreement is governed by that agreement, not solely by these Terms.
19. Changes to these Terms
Careviv may update these Terms as the Services change. For a material change that affects user rights, matching, fees, or personal-information processing, or where law requires it, Careviv will provide advance notice and may request renewed acceptance before the change applies to you.
Continued use after a non-material update may constitute acceptance of that update. Careviv will not rely only on continued use as acceptance of a material change where renewed acceptance is required. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Services and may close your account.
20. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old or have parental or guardian consent to use the Services. Doctor and clinic portal accounts are intended for adults acting in a professional capacity.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and applicable Canadian federal law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada, unless otherwise required by consumer-protection law or a separate written agreement.
