**Certifications & professional experience** - UBC Kinesiology - WCCMT RMT - ELDOA Level 2 - NKT Level 2 - IASTM Level 1 **Special interest** - Minor injuries such as light sprains and strains - Major injuries such as orthopaedic surgery recovering patients Calvin has undergone the reconstruction of two ligaments in his left knee, as well as two operations for a dislocated right shoulder and a herniated lumbar disc. These experiences plus trial and error through recovery have shaped his treatment approach, leading him to adopt a more active style. He believes that the patient must be engaged during treatments and be ready for hard work in order for their body to achieve positive results. And lots of deep pressure, of course. **Languages spoken** - English **Personal touch** - Gym - Playing volleyball and basketball - Long hikes - Cleaning up after his pets As a new WCCMT graduate, Calvin is now a Registered Massage Therapistas as well as a Certified Kinesiologist. After graduating from UBC with a BKin degree, Calvin worked in the field of active rehabilitation by treating ICBC patients. While practicing active rehabilitation, it was here that he realized he lacked the proper manual skills training to provide an adequate patient-centered care. Now, utilizing the knowledge and experience from two professions, Calvin has acquired the versatility in handling everyday patients, to athletic injuries and recoveries. Outside of the clinic, Calvin strives to "feel good, move good". He has a strong passion for weight lifting, basketball and volleyball, but also believes in trying new forms of movements and exercises as an outlet to further his knowledge about the body. Like many other patients, Calvin has had his fair share of injuries. After going through two reconstructed knee surgeries and a subluxated shoulder, his new resolve revolves around becoming better than his old self. Through his long journey of recovery, Calvin hopes to educate patients, with his learnt experiences, by helping them understand their body better and to move with confidence.
