Nicholas Santema

Physical Therapist l Works in New Westminster Nick graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (with Distinction) before completing his Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia. He has also achieved Level One certification in the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. During his time at SFU, Nick gained hands-on experience working with varsity athletes as a Student Trainer for the Men's Basketball team. Nick's passion for physiotherapy was sparked during his time as an athlete, where he faced multiple injuries from basketball and running. These experiences deepened his appreciation for the human body's resilience and fueled his commitment to helping others recover and thrive. In his practice, Nick takes an evidence-based, client-centered approach, emphasizing his belief that movement is medicine and tailoring treatments to meet each client's unique goals. Prior to his career in physiotherapy, Nick also worked as a kinesiologist and weight training attendant, where he further developed his understanding and appreciation of strength and conditioning and its role in injury management. When he's not in the clinic, you'll likely find Nick at the gym, on a run, or playing basketball. He's also a lifelong skier and enjoys hiking, golf and tennis.
