About: elysse (aka “ellis”) is a trusted therapist who will be covering some shifts for other practitioners at Paper Crane.

elysse’s approach to massage therapy is holistic: her treatment plans are grounded in orthopedics, anatomy, and current research, while simultaneously deeply valuing the power of attentive and present touch.

In addition to her work as a Massage Therapist, elysse works in the arts. In both careers, she values and practices collaboration, communication, and curiosity, and feels enriched by working with folks from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences, genders, and neurotypes.

She welcomes all body types on her massage table.

An appointment with elysse will always begin with a conversation about what you are hoping to address with your massage treatment, and about your massage preferences and boundaries. You will have time to ask questions or voice any concerns. It is important that you feel safe, comfortable, and empowered during your massage.

While elysse is always more than happy to adapt her treatment style to suit your preferences, the pressure she generally uses ranges from medium to deep. You can expect slow broad contact, sustained sinking pressure, prolonged passive stretches, and limb traction. She often blends deep Swedish Massage with myo-fascial techniques. Her style has been described as “slow and melty.” She aims to facilitate a quiet, comfortable space during the massage so that you can be present with your thoughts and sensations.

When she is not at the clinic, you are likely to find elysse in a theatre (making or watching a show), or on her bicycle. She has training in dance (contemporary, ballet), practices yoga and Pilates, and loves a picnic (any time of year). She has two dogs who accompany her on multiple long walks every day.
