Joy holds both a Master of Occupational Therapy degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Throughout her academic journey at UBC, she embraced a holistic perspective on health, exploring the intricate connections among environmental factors, physical health, psychological well-being, and individual experiences.

Dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based care, Joy has accumulated extensive clinical experience across diverse areas. Her expertise includes mental health, neurorehabilitation, fatigue management, quality of life enhancement, and overall functional improvement. She has honed her skills through roles in acute hospital units, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, and non-governmental organizations.

Joy's commitment extends beyond clinical settings. She is passionate about empowering her patients to engage in activities that align with their individual needs, desires, and joys in life. Grounded in the fundamental 'doing-being-becoming' concept of occupational therapy, Joy actively pursues various interests outside her professional role, including fostering relationships, photography, conservation work, and participating in sports and outdoor adventures.
